The H500 holds 500 kg of melted chocolate and melts it gently using an indirect water jacket heating system – from the heating rods, via the water in the jacketed tank, to the chocolate. This gentle melting method ensures careful treatment of the chocolate prior to the tempering process.

Like the H100 and H200, the H500 can supply melted chocolate to tempering machines, enrobers, depositors or moulding machines – either manually via the drain valve or automatically via an optional heated pump and pipe system. The H500 also supports compound chocolate production.

How it works: Melting, storing and transferring chocolate

The H500 melts solid chocolate using the same principle as the H100 and H200 – a water-jacket heating system with continuous stirring – but at a larger scale, designed for high-volume, continuous operation. The operator simply keeps the tank supplied with solid chocolate, and the H500 ensures a steady supply of melted chocolate around the clock.

Once melted, chocolate transfers to the next machine in the production line – typically via an optional heated, insulated pump-and-pipe system. The H500P model supplies melted chocolate directly to water-cooled tempering machines such as the TB100 and TB200, which can temper up to 100 and 200 kg of chocolate per hour, respectively.

The H500 melting tank is designed for 24 hours operation – every day throughout the year.

Besides controlling the temperature of the melted chocolate the control system also has an overheating security. The gear-motor unit driving the agitator system is also protected from electrical over load.

The H500 melting tank can have a heated pump and pipe system added – then the melting tank becomes model H500P. The pipes are heated and insulated, and the temperature of the pipes is controlled by a thermostat.
