C + CS COOLING TUNNEL, Chocolate manufacturing machine

C + CS Chocolate Cooling Tunnel

– Belt Width of 32, 40 or 60 cm

The C and CS chocolate cooling tunnels are designed as primary cooling units in continuous chocolate production lines, cooling products received from moulding equipment or enrobers.

Controlled and consistent cooling supports stable products, consistent appearance and reliable release from the belt, making the cooling tunnel a key part of the production flow.

With modular length options and belt widths up to 600 mm, the system can be adapted to different production setups and capacities, for instance when integrated with the 2MP enrober machine.

The shortest standard model is 6.6 metres long, with the total length extendable in 2.0-metre sections to match different production requirements.

The first metre of the cooling tunnel functions as an open decorating table, allowing for manual product decoration before cooling. At the discharge end, the final metre serves as an open packing table.

Before reaching the packing table, the products are released from the main belt, enabling gentle and controlled removal of the cooled products.

Highlights:

  • Continuous cooling of chocolate products after moulding or enrobing
  • Modular tunnel length with extendable sections to match production requirements
  • Integrated decorating and packing tables for efficient product handling
  • Gentle product release from the main belt before packing
  • Plug & play unit with integrated cooling and control systems, fully tested and ready for immediate operation
  • No external technicians required for installation or startup

How it works: From decoration to controlled cooling and packing

The cooling tunnel is designed to support a smooth and continuous product flow from decoration to packing.

At the beginning of the table, an open decorating section allows for manual finishing before the products enter the cooling section. After controlled cooling, the products are released from the main belt, enabling gentle handling before reaching the packing table at the discharge end.

Frequently asked questions about the C and CS cooling tunnels

What is the role of a cooling tunnel in a chocolate production line?
A cooling tunnel is used to solidify chocolate products after moulding or enrobing, ensuring stable structure, consistent appearance and readiness for further handling or packing.

Can the C and CS cooling tunnels be integrated into a complete production line?
Yes. The cooling tunnels are designed for integration after enrobers or moulding equipment, forming part of a continuous production flow from coating to packing.

How do I choose the right length of a cooling tunnel?
The required length depends on product type, capacity and cooling requirements. The modular design allows the tunnel to be extended in sections to match specific production needs.

Are the C and CS cooling tunnels suitable for continuous production?
Yes. They are designed as primary cooling units in continuous production lines, supporting stable operation and consistent product quality throughout the production day.

What types of products can be cooled in the tunnel?
The system supports a wide range of chocolate products, including enrobed items, moulded products, bars and similar applications.

Is installation complex?
No. The cooling tunnel is delivered as a plug-and-play unit with integrated cooling and control systems, allowing for straightforward installation without the need for external technicians.

Product details

Chocoma cooling tunnel type C+CS is originally designed to be used together with the Chocoma enrober models 2MP24, 2MP32, 2MP40 and 2MP60. However, it can also be used together with other cooling tunnel brands with a maximum belt width of 600 mm.

By means of a cooling compressor, cooling is generated in the cooling section placed in the middle of the cooling tunnel. Cooling of the products is based on an air re-circulating concept, where cold air continuously is circulated from the middle of the cooling tunnel to both ends of the tunnel. Thanks to this air circulation concept, the loss of cold air and necessary energy consumption is minimized.

The conveyor table is covered by insulated top sections of 1 meter. They are made as a light weight construction easy to handle without use of tools. The top covers have a 50 mm insulation.

The conveyor belt is controlled by an automatic belt steering device.
